Home Climbing Wall Installation Guide

The standard RopeGun Climbing panel is an assembly comprising a 3/4” thick climbing panel and a 1/2” back mounting flange. Thus, the assembly is 1-1/4” in thickness.

The 1/2” thick back mounting flange is glued and nailed to the climbing panel. The climbing panel and mounting flange is one integrated piece or assembly.

This assembly is designed to be mounted directly to a standard finished stud wall. That is a standard finished stud wall being any stud wall comprising 2×4 or greater wood studs 16” on center and covered with a single layer of 1/2” thick sheet rock or gypsum board (1/2” or less).

The climbing panel assembly shall be mounted to the wall using a minimum of 4 each, 3-1/2” decking screws.

This configuration allows for climbing hold bolts to extend behind and beyond the climbing panel a little without interfering with the sheet rocked wall.

Simply locate the underlying wall studs using a wall stud finder. Then using a minimum of 4 each 3-1/2” decking screws, mount the panel to the studs through the sheet rock layer.
